This is my journey. It’s simple, right? To change my career and do something I enjoy, am passionate about and will be good at. Something that will help others.
Reading and writing have been my passions since I was a child. I have done creative writing and poetry courses, poetry readings and always thought I would end up a writer. However, as life would have it, I ended up in the corporate world of projects and it took many years to realise that my dream had disappeared into the shadows.
About a year ago I hit a wall and came to the conclusion that I couldn’t possibly continue working a job I was not passionate about. I thought I want to make a difference. I want to feel fulfilled, happy, enjoy what I am doing. I want to help people. The most enjoyable time at work has been writing documents, training guides and remodeling websites, wikis and such. I had a light bulb moment when I was given the chance to work with a copywriter and really saw the value they add to a business.
A year later and lucky for me, that copywriter (Rose Crompton) has agreed to help me along my journey and here we are!
I created this blog to document my steps on the path to changing my career from a Senior Project Analyst to a freelance Copywriter. Let’s begin!
